Congressional GOP Issues Statement Supporting Hosni Mubarack Staying On Life Support
Multiple news outlets are now report that former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak is “clinically dead” following a stroke. Within thirty minutes, the House and Senate GOP released a combined statement condemning those advocating for Mubarak to be removed from life support.
“As a party, we believe strongly in the sanctity of life. We reject the numerous voices around the world calling for President Mubarak to be taken off life support. Doing so would be the same as a government mandated death sentence, which we only support after a lengthy judicial process, preferably riddled with errors which leave the accused’s guilt in doubt. Mubarak is s special case because we know he is guilty, ” House Majority Leader John Boehner said in an emergency press conference Tuesday evening
The GOP’s statement is in line with their earlier support of Floridian Terry Schiavo, who was at the center of a euthanasia debate in the 2000’s.
