Julian Assange Launches New Late Night Talk Show, Achieves Every Blogger’s Dream

International Man of Secrets Julian Assange launched his new TV show, World Tomorrow , yesterday on Russian television. It’s really boring, and kind of what you might expect from him. It’s so boring that I won’t even link to it.
Anyway, Assange’s TV deal highlights the new addition to the American dream.
Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires. - John Steinbeck
People blog for their futures. The American Dream used to be about creating a future by one’s own hard work, but then social mobility became easier in Canada and Western Europe and all of our bootstrap factories got outsourced to China.
The Internet brought about one caveat to the above social media. Sure, internet fame is not the same as real fame or even reality TV contestant fame, but it’s still fame.

We blog for Google Adsense dollars
We blog for reblogs
We blog for blog-based TV, Film, and book deals
Assange was just another blogging, blogging about things, hoping to get noticed by the mainstream cultural zeitgeist of the time, and he did it. He achieved the Blogmerican Dream.
